“Coronavirus Spread Speeds Up, Even as Nations Reopen”, in just the last week, even as some countries move to reopen, 700,000 new infections have been reported as the virus takes firmer hold in Latin America and the Middle East. The virus has infected more than 5.7 million people around the world and killed at least 357,000. “The coronavirus pandemic’s pace is quickening worldwide” by Dado Galdieri. The pandemic has not shown any decrease. That is why nearly 700,000 new known infections were reported in the last week after the pathogen found greater footholds in Latin America and the Gulf States. During this time people should be careful because there are still people who are very susceptible to pandemic. Hopefully, we will get the vaccine in a short time to stop and come back to normal life!

“India Loosens Restrictions, Despite Coronavirus Surge”, Baghdad has shut down again; Israel might as well. Moscow has doubled its official death toll. India is lifting its lockdown at what experts fear may be the worst time. “Its coronavirus cases are skyrocketing” by Divyakant Solanki. The pandemic is still a big threat to everyone. If the reopening of public places within countries amid the pandemic has seemed dizzying, the rules on travel between nations are shaping up to be bewildering. Epidemiologists project that its total caseload could approach a million within several weeks. But for the time being we still cannot do anything.  Wonder what will happen in the future. But also hope that everyone can protect themselves and prevent pandemic. And hope that we will get the vaccine soon. Because the current situation is very tense and danger.

“France Bans Malaria Drug for Coronavirus Treatments”, Nissan and Renault are trying to reset their troubled relationship. An E.U. a recovery plan could bring the bloc closer to a shared budget. The World Health Organization temporarily removed the drug from global trials over safety concerns. “Taken hydroxychloroquine as a preventive measure” by Andrea Mantovani. Although there is currently no vaccine against this pandemic but taken hydroxychloroquine as a preventive measure, despite the lack of evidence that it works against Covid-19. This will probably cause some people to misunderstand. Hydroxychloroquine, immunosuppressive drug, and Anti-parasite. It can treat and prevent malaria. It can also treat lupus and arthritis. But hopefully we will officially get the vaccine soon. The situation right now is very urgent, be safe and healthy. And be careful in the future because things are still in danger!

‘‘We Need Help’: Coronavirus Fuels Racism Against Black Americans in China”, African governments have loudly protested abuse of their citizens in China, but the Trump administration’s response to harassment of African-Americans has been muted. Jeff Remmington, an American professional basketball player trying his hand in China denied service at a restaurant with his 4-year-old son because of his skin color. “I kind of broke down” by Elizabeth Williamson and Vivian Wang. Currently in the current situation there has been a lot of things related to racial discrimination. And this is of utmost importance to everyone all over the world because it is very disrespectful to distinguish color. Even if you do not like them, you should not do it because they are not harmful to anyone. They are the same people on the same planet. Even though the ethnicity is different, they are still human!

“Coronavirus Epidemics Began Later Than Believed, Study Concludes”, in Washington State and Italy, the first confirmed cases were not linked to the outbreaks that followed, the analysis found. The epidemics were seeded later. The first confirmed coronavirus infections in Europe and the United States, discovered in January, did not ignite the epidemics that followed. “Epidemic arrived roughly two weeks after the ban was imposed” by Carl Zimmer. Currently the delay in the prevention of epidemics is still controversial. The authors argue that the relatively late emergence of the outbreak means that more lives could have been saved by early action, such as testing and contact tracing. But the pandemic has spread anyway, we cannot do anything either. Hope we will get the vaccine soon to be able to bring things back to normal and people can start their lives again!

“As a Federal Coronavirus Expert Frets, the Capital Moves to Reopen”, like many areas around the country, Washington and its suburbs are embracing positive momentum in data on infections to push ahead. The leaders around the nation’s capital are pushing forward with plans to reopen the region. “I want to make sure we all understand that moving into Phase 1 means that more people can get infected” by Jennifer Steinhauer. Currently whether viruses increase, or decrease is still a question. There is still no certainty after reopen region the virus will not continue to increase. But for now, we cannot do anything more. Hopefully, we will get the vaccine soon to end the nightmare that threatens people’s lives. And so, people can return to their jobs and their lives officially without fear with smiles on his lips!

“Coronavirus Turns a Spanish Sea Delicacy Back Into Daily Fare”, with high-end restaurants closed, the price of prawns has tumbled, allowing fishmongers to pick up the shellfish at a discount and offer them to a much broader clientele. With dining rooms closed, that top-end market has disappeared, and the prawns are being picked up at vastly reduced prices. “The question is whether people will return in large numbers to the restaurants before the oil prices rise again” by Raphael Minder. As we have seen the pandemic has caused a lot of losses in business. The economy is still going down and they can do nothing but lower prices to keep it going. This may be a disadvantage for business people, but we cannot do it either. The only thing that can help us is to get vaccines in the future.

Coronavirus Changed China’s Big Political Event. Here’s What to Expect”, the National People’s Congress, which starts Friday morning in Beijing, is a chance for China to show the world that it has tamed the epidemic. The critics have urged it to admit its early missteps and reflect on the pitfalls of its penchant for secrecy and control. “China faces growing criticism around the world for its early attempts to conceal the outbreak in Wuhan” by Aly Song/Reuters. The pandemic stays a dangerous threat to people all over the world. Especially for those who do not have the assurance to prevent viruses then this will be difficult for them. Hopefully, everyone will be careful in the future because the number of infected people has not shown any decrease! Stay home, stay healthy, and be safe.

“Black Coronavirus Patients Land in Hospitals More Often, Study Finds”, Compared to white or Hispanic patients, black patients seeking care have more advanced cases of Covid-19, researchers reported. Black and Hispanic patients have been dying at higher rates than white patients. “But a new study suggests that the disparity is particularly acute for black patients” by Roni Caryn Rabin. Crowded living conditions, poorer overall health and limited access to care have been blamed. In this case, there will be a lot of people who have extremely easy to get viruses. These people can get the virus no matter how they prevent it! Although the community is currently reopening but the virus is still there. Hopefully, we will get the vaccine soon. Because now the number of infected people is not on a downward trend.

“European Defense and ‘Strategic Autonomy’ Are Also Coronavirus Victims”, with governments under intense spending pressure to cope with the coronavirus, European ambitions for a more independent defense are facing the chop. The biggest casualties may be European efforts to build a more credible and independent European military. “With the pandemic having cratered the economy, there will be an even fiercer battle of the budget” by Steven Erlanger. The pandemic is making everything mess up. Not only economic but also businesspeople face many difficulties. It is not known whether after the end of the pandemic, everything is difficult to recover. We now need to be cautious in the future because the pandemic is still there. Hope we will soon be able to stop this dangerous pandemic and return everything back to normal!

“Countries Struggle to Resume Air Travel”, The U.S. banned travelers from Brazil and India restored domestic flights. And President Trump caused outrage by playing golf as the death toll in America neared 100,000. Around the world, countries are struggling with how to best resume air travel, a cornerstone of modern commerce but also a dangerous vector of coronavirus infection. “Their people banned from arriving at once-accepting airports” by Adriano Machado/Reuters. Currently things are slowly easing. But whether this is the right time to reopen because the pandemic is still there. Coronavirus cases have exploded in Brazil, Latin America’s largest economy. The country, which confirmed its first case in late February, now has the largest known outbreak after the United States, with more than 350,000 infections and more than 22,500 deaths.

“Coronavirus Threatens China’s Devotion to Chopsticks and Sharing Food”, faced with the spread of the coronavirus, the government is promoting using serving utensils, but resistance is strong. Concerns are growing that the country’s long tradition of sharing food could also accelerate the spread of the coronavirus. “Double dipping is the norm” By Amy Qin. The pandemic is the danger for everyone, that is why we need some way to prevent it. Because we are in an epidemic period, we must blame for the virus to spread. Right now, we do not have the vaccine yet, so we must try to take preventive measures. The community is being reopened but still must ensure personal safety. Hopefully, we will get the vaccine soon so that everything can be returned to normal and at the same time everyone can return to normal life.

As we launch into a new era after the pandemic, the first thing is to support the nation’s economy, after that people will begin to return to work to support the family income. and I think that will take a lot of time especially in bringing things back to their original state, it would be difficult. I wonder what humans will be like after a pandemic. I wonder if people who lost their precious things during the last pandemic can continue to stand up and continue to move forward. Especially those who lost loved ones in the last pandemic whether they can continue to work and return to normal life or not. To balance everything after the pandemic, time is not the point. The main problem is that people have lost faith by the last pandemic whether they can continue to keep life or give up. I will play the dreams role while our Earth harmonizes a balance that settles to become our future!

“After New Coronavirus Outbreaks, China Imposes Wuhan-Style Lockdown”, infections in the northeast have led officials to sequester hundreds of thousands at home. “China doesn’t want to take any chances,” one expert said. Teams of government workers go door to door rounding up sick people as part of what they call a “wartime” campaign. “They are turning to many of the same strict lockdown measures” by Javier C. Hernández. The danger of a pandemic continues and there is no downward trend. In the future, it can be difficult for everyone and the job. That is why we must try to protect ourselves, especially soon. Hopefully soon there will be a vaccine to be able to officially return to normal life normally without any worries and students can return to school without worrying about next year! Stay home, stay healthy, and be safe.

Paris and Amazon have reached an agreement with French unions to reopen its warehouses in France after a lengthy battle over safety measures to protect workers against the coronavirus. “Retailer has faced during the pandemic” by Liz Alderman. We can see that in the anti-epidemic period, retailers had to face many difficulties, especially in business. And even the workers who worked, had a lot of trouble during this pandemic. Although there is currently a pandemic and there is no downward trend, it is also expected that people can return to their normal work slowly. Hopefully, we will get vaccines soon so that people can return without having to worry about pandemic anymore.

“Wandering a Grand Hotel Emptied by Coronavirus, and Checking 1,400 Taps”, a luxury hotel in Barcelona plans to welcome guests again once Spain’s lockdown ends. Until then, its sole occupant lives in a room with enviable views and prepares it for a post-pandemic world. With an official death toll of just over 27,000, Spain has been one of the European countries hit hardest by the coronavirus pandemic. “It’s probably the most boring part of my job, but it’s needed” by Raphael Minder. The pandemic problems continue to make many countries difficult to economy. Everyone’s work faces many difficulties. Do not know when this pandemic will end, but if this keeps up like this. But if it continues for a long time there will be lots of damage and lots of deaths. Hope we will get the vaccine soon to end and come back to real life.

“Germany and France Propose $545 Billion Coronavirus Fund for Europe”, the U.S. sharply criticized the World Health Organization, while China pledged $2 billion to fight the pandemic. They agreed to back the idea of collective European debt to help those countries that have been hit hardest by the pandemic. “Faced with economic calamity and the threat of the coronavirus further fracturing the European Union” by Andreas Gora. The pandemic has not shown signs of decline and now it is still a threat to the world. Ms. Merkel joined with President Emmanuel Macron of France to propose borrowing 500 billion euros, or $545 billion, for a common recovery fund. And we still do not know until the end of the world crisis. But hopefully we will soon end the world crisis so everyone can officially return and work again!

“A.C.L.U. Warns Against Fever-Screening Tools for Coronavirus”, a report by the civil liberties group contends that reliance on thermal cameras and temperature-sensing guns to resume work at factories and offices and to encourage travel is flawed and intrusive. The American Civil Liberties Union warned on Tuesday against using the tools to screen people for coronavirus symptoms. “The devices were often inaccurate, ineffective and intrusive” By Natasha Singer. It looks like we have another problem with the help devices in fighting Covid-19. If the devices are often inaccurate, ineffective, and intrusive then people will have a challenging time finding viruses. The best way to combat the pandemic now is to avoid exposure in crowded places, wash your hand, and stay home. Because only we can protect ourselves. Devices are not always right!

“A Sudden Coronavirus Surge Brought Out Singapore’s Dark Side”, the pandemic seemed to pass over the city-state. Then the government was blindsided by an outbreak among poor migrant workers in packed dormitories. It appeared that the virus was passing us by; that the infections would sputter along at a low level and finally disappear altogether. “The threat had not gone away” by Megan K. Stack. The automatic pandemic disappears is impossible. Because there is no evidence for that yet. But if that really happens, then it is lucky too! Currently, we still do not have the vaccine yet, so if the pandemic really disappears so that can help us be safe in a brief time. But to be sure, the vaccine against the virus is what can guarantee. But try to avoid close contact and stay home!

“Coronavirus shut down the “Experience Economy.” Can it come back?”, large scale gatherings are on hold for the foreseeable future. That is taking a toll on the live events industry and society at large. In states that have started to reopen, customers have not yet flocked back to establishments of the experience economy. “That was the worst-case scenario, especially with all the marketing we did” by David Gelles. The pandemic has caused many businesspeople to face loss of money. Some famous places must also have closed because of the pandemic. Now we are not sure whether we can get back to the community yet. Hopefully, there will be a downward trend for people to return to work. And hope that we will soon have a vaccine to fight the virus and stop the death.

“Prominent Scientists Denounce End to Coronavirus Grant ”, a group of 77 Nobel laureates wants the U.S. government to review a grant cancellation for research in China directly related to preventing pandemics. The agency said the investigation into the sources of pandemics did not fit with program goals and agency priorities. The pre-eminent scientists characterized the explanation for the decision by the National Institutes of Health as “preposterous”. “The sources of pandemics did not fit with the program” by James Gorman. This is surprisingly good news catching it during a pandemic like this. It seems that not only the economy and people’s lives are in trouble but even the pandemic vaccine research is having some problems, too. Hope everything will be alright so that the pleading in the pandemic will continue. But everyone should also try to protect themselves especially in the future!

“Coronavirus Forces Gulf States to Reckon with Their Scores of Migrant Workers”, a new cluster of cases in Seoul tests South Korea’s easing. Belarus held a tank parade. The fourth day of the new phase, the mayor of Seoul ordered all the capital’s bars and nightclubs shut down indefinitely after the discovery of a cluster of dozens of coronavirus infections. “27 cases have been found among the club-goers and people who had close contact with them” by Woohae Cho. The situation is still unchanged after reopening in public. after only a few weeks of reopening the pandemic has not changed. It continues to spread when people talk to each other. Government officials, health workers and much of the public know full well that until there is a vaccine, relaxing restrictions will lead to more infections, and more deaths.

“As States Rush to Reopen, Scientists Fear a Coronavirus Comeback”, officials are under pressure to restart the economy, but many states are moving too quickly, researchers say. The costs may be measured in lost lives. The much feared “second wave” of infection may not wait until fall and instead may become a storm of wavelets breaking unpredictably across the country. “The much-feared “second wave” by Donald G. McNeil Jr. We can see that the fear of scientists is completely supportive. The reopening will go ahead, but is it a good measure for everyone? Because the vaccine to combat the pandemic coronavirus epidemic is still being investigated, we are still uncertain about the vaccine for coronavirus. But hopes of the scientists’ fears will not come true. There have been many people who have become victims of coronavirus in recent years. Hope we will get the vaccine soon!

“App Shows Promise in Tracking New Coronavirus Cases, Study Finds”, the app, which allows people to record their symptoms, was remarkably effective in predicting infections. The most reliable indicators, researchers found, were loss of smell and taste. Using a mathematical model, the researchers were able to predict a person was likely to have Covid-19 based on their age, sex, and a combination of four symptoms: loss of taste or smell, persistent cough, fatigue, and loss of appetite. The more we collect this stuff and the more we document it properly, the better we can deal with new outbreaks” by Andrew Jacobs. The app Shows Promise in Tracking New Coronavirus Cases, it seems that this is a new way of researching the pandemic. This may also be a way to try to constrain the data of pandemic. Hopefully, it can be helpful in the future of pandemic prevention research!

“Quietly but Savagely, the Coronavirus Is Decimating Latin America”, as nations loosen rules, new clusters in places that seemed to have tamed the virus show how hard success is to sustain. In Wuhan, a small cluster led to a giant response test for the entire city. Several nations that have been jailed for curbing the spread of the pandemic are finding that victory over the coronavirus can be elusive and fleeting, especially after they start lifting lockdowns. “New clusters emerge in countries praised for successful coronavirus fights” by Victor Moriyama. Glad for some countries that have succeeded in preventing pandemic. Although there is still no vaccine for the pandemic, it is still good news to be able to prevent a pandemic. And hope we will get the vaccine soon in time to stop this pandemic.

“New Inflammatory Condition in Children Probably Linked to Coronavirus, Study Finds”, researchers compared 10 cases in Italy with earlier cases of a similar childhood illness, Kawasaki disease. The rate of the new cases was much higher, and the conditions were more serious. As concerns mount over children with a serious and potentially deadly inflammatory condition. “10 cases of the illness with cases of a similar rare condition in children called Kawasaki disease” By Pam Belluck. The disease is gradually spreading to children. Currently, the vaccine for the coronavirus epidemic is still under investigation. Do not know when it will end this annoying pandemic. But I hope we will get the vaccine soon in time to stop this pandemic. And we can officially return to normal life without having to worry about pandemics anymore. Be safe, healthy, and stay home!

“Cats Can Transmit the Coronavirus to Each Other, but They Probably Won’t Get Sick from It”, the six cats in a laboratory experiment cleared the virus from their bodies on their own. And there are no reports of humans contracting the virus from cats. Cats can infect each other with the novel coronavirus, but they may not have any symptoms. “Domestic cats, as well as tigers and lions at the Bronx Zoo, tested positive for the coronavirus” by James Gorman. It seems that the virus is starting to spread to animals. The pandemic is still spreading. I wonder how much longer we can cope with this pandemic. This virus will continue to spread soon, so hopefully people try to avoid it. Hope we will get the vaccine soon in time to stop this pandemic.

“Coronavirus Live Updates: Southeast Asia’s Lockdowns Lead to Safer Roads”, traffic deaths in Thailand were down by about half last month. Typhoon Vongfong is complicating virus measures in the Philippines. The main point in this article is that Coronavirus lockdowns across Southeast Asia are reaping an unexpected benefit: safer roads in a region where road fatalities are a leading killer. “And in Manila, the capital of the Philippines, the roads are much safer now than they were pre-lockdown, according to the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority” by Adam Dean. In the quote, this sounds like good news for Southeast Asia. The roads are much safer now! Although there is still no vaccine yet, everyone is safe, which is good news for the time being. Hope the pandemic will end soon so everything can return to its original state. And so, students can return to school to continue their studies.

Declaration of a global health emergency on Friday amid increasing criticism from the Trump Administration about its handling of the coronavirus pandemic. “The pandemic remains a public health emergency of international concern” by Knvul Sheikh. The pandemic continues to grow and a quarter million have died. The only thing we can do now is to minimize the spread of pandemic. “After a Lifetime Together, Coronavirus Takes Them Both,”  across the country, reports are surfacing of long-term couples dying from Covid-19 in quick succession, redoubling the pain for those they leave behind. One of the cruelties of the coronavirus is the way it sweeps through homes, passing from person to person, compounding the burdens and anxieties of relatives who are either prevented from giving physical and emotional care to their loved ones. “The cruelty is darker when both partners in a couple die, often within a few days of each other” by Katherine Rosman. It can be said that going to family members is a great loss for everyone. This is an injustice to the people who live out there. The pandemic is becoming more dangerous and it is taking a lot of lives. Hopefully, we will have a vaccine soon so we can stop this terrible pandemic!

“E.U. Waters Down Report on China’s Coronavirus Propaganda,”  Belgium said it would start gradually lifting lockdown measures in May. The report that was about to be released on Tuesday cited Beijing’s efforts to curtail mentions of the virus’s origins in China, in part by blaming the United States for spreading the disease internationally. “China has continued to run a global disinformation campaign to deflect blame for the outbreak of the pandemic and improve its international image” by Marko Djurica/Reuters. It does not matter who is at fault now. The important thing now is to find ways to prevent the pandemic and the number of deaths. It must try to stop as soon as possible otherwise uneconomical and everything will go down. Hopefully, we will have a vaccine soon so we can stop this terrible pandemic!

And in Russia, three medical workers who complained about the government’s response have fallen from buildings. The U.S. government has spent money on vaccine research and development, including $2.6 billion through the Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority, an arm of the Health and Human Services Department. “The country has slashed red tape and offered resources to drug companies in a bid to empower the country’s vaccine industry” by Anna Moneymaker. It seems that now everyone can do it at home and look forward to vaccines. In addition, we should avoid contact to minimize the spread of pandemic. Hopefully, the number of pandemics will decrease soon.

“Did a Mutation Turbocharge the Coronavirus? Not Likely, Scientists Say,” a preliminary report posted online claimed that a mutation had made the virus more transmissible. Geneticists say the evidence is not there. A mutation in the coronavirus that arose in Europe then rapidly spread, becoming dominant as the virus was introduced into new countries. “Claimed to have found a mutation in the coronavirus” by Carl Zimmer. Currently the current pandemic has not been resolved satisfactorily and the vaccine is still in development. The death toll is still ongoing. And now it keeps coming with a mutation in the coronavirus. It seems like there will be a lot of problems in the future. Hopefully, we will have a vaccine soon so we can stop this terrible pandemic. We should be careful and preventive because we will not know what will happen next!

“As India Loosens Its Strict Lockdown, Coronavirus Deaths Jump Sharply”, the streets have suddenly come alive, especially at night, in many areas where social distancing is impossible. The last few days, the government has loosened up the rules, drawing people into the streets. And now the dangerous contagion appears to be spreading more aggressively. “The amount of time it takes for the number of coronavirus cases to double has dropped from around 12 days to 9.5” by Jeffrey Gettleman and Kai Schultz. It is a great joy to be back to a normal life, but that return has made the longer child continue to increase death toll. In just a few days, the pandemic started doubling. This proves that the pandemic may continue to increase or sometimes double as before. Hopefully, we will have a vaccine soon!

“After Recovery from the Coronavirus, Most People Carry Antibodies”, a new study adds to evidence of immunity among those who have already been exposed to the pathogen. The health officials in several countries, including the United States, have hung their hopes on tests that identify coronavirus antibodies to decide who is immune and can go back to work. “But most antibody tests are fraught with false positives” by Apoorva Mandavilli. Antibodies combine chemically with substances which the body recognizes as alien, such as bacteria, viruses, and foreign substances in the blood. Today i woke up and chilled with my little sister and because it was dia de los ninos, i did a water gun fight with my step brother outside. I watched scarface because i haven’t seen the whole movie; only parts of it. I didn’t even finish it because it was long and i didnt fit it in with my day. At night I played fortnite with my homies and I carried them because I am a beast. Then I tried to fall asleep but they kept calling.

Today I read an article about coronavirus on aarp.org. It was about coronavirus and nursing homes. One of the states largest nursing homes suffered a tragedy. 57 residents of this nursing home have died since March. That’s only one of them, in New York 19 nursing homes have had over 20 deaths. In total there were 6,900 deaths due to coronavirus in the US alone. Hopefully all this stops, this is a disaster.

Scientists Race For a Coronavirus Vaccine, death toll passed 200,000, countries are mapping out a return to public life. The scientists around the world are competing to develop a vaccine to stop the coronavirus. Nurses and other health care workers have been defending against the pandemic. But many nurses no longer wear their uniforms as they commute for fear of being hurt. “We can save your lives” by Jose Luis Gonzalez/Reuters. Nurses and other healthcare workers are trying to be able to help everyone, especially when we are in this chaotic period! There are also many people who are afraid of this pandemic. But what is important right now is not the fear that we must try to minimize the spread of pandemic. Hopefully soon we will have the vaccine to be able to return to life and work.

I Could Be One of Them’: Belgians Help Migrants Amid Coronavirus“, under strict lockdown measures, asylum seekers and migrants on the streets of Brussels increasingly rely on residents for survival. The authorities emptied half of the country’s migrant detention centers to help prevent the spread of the virus, leaving hundreds of people without a home. So, some Belgian residents have stepped in to help. “They help feed and house the migrants and keep them from sleeping on the streets” by Monika Pronczuk. Rotating system with other volunteers to ensure that they give out meals twice a day. Having this kind of support is really a good thing to the people out there. Hopefully soon we will have the vaccine to be able to return to life and work.

As Coronavirus Sickens Mexican Workers, U.S. Presses Their Factories to Stay Open”, the pandemic threatens to plunge half a billion people into poverty. The gains the world was making in fighting poverty are at grave risk as the coronavirus brings countries to a grinding halt, forcing workers out of jobs they desperately need. “The developing world will be hardest hit” by Atul Loke. It seems that plague is not the only difficulty for everyone but even the economy and income of people are facing difficulties. And most at risk are people working in the informal sector, which employs two billion people who have no access to benefits like unemployment assistance or health care. With half of all jobs lost across the continent.

Some articles that I have read about were some of the coronavirus outbreaks. A lot of it talks about when would it end, and the best answer for that question is basically if the virus can be contained. Hospitals need to do their best to safely treat patients who require hospitalization. Some things that you should do if you feel sick in any kind of way like a cough, or fever, you should immediately call the doctor and they will let you know if you should be tested or not. Some reporters are asking people online if they are safe or if they lost their job just to try to make it safe. Some things that help you prevent getting the virus is hot steam to breath in.

Tuesday, 28 April 2020

Some things that I have been doing to keep myself occupied is watching movies, playing games, cleaning, and obviously doing homework. This virus has really put a major huge effect in the world. Stores have lost their business, people lost their jobs, and everything has been shut down, like Disneyland, Seaworld, and beaches.I feel like companies and businesses have lost money and that it may be hard to recover from this kriis, Or even worse never to recover from this kriis. The death toll in the United States has climbed to over more than 58,000 deaths.

Wednesday, 29 April 2020

Some other things that I have been doing is staying in contact with my family, I have also stayed in touch with friends to make sure they are also safe. I have been hanging out with some people but not in a big huge crowd because I think that we should be safe, and hanging out with a bunch of people isn’t just the best thing. So far I have recently been putting in job applications for a job, I really think now may not be the best time to do it but I feel like there are some jobs who might just be hiring at the moment.

Thursday, 30 April 2020

I feel like in my personal opinion that the coronavirus effect was the people’s activities and my activities. Most people really love to go out and have fun and be entertained with themselves or other people. But nowadays they have to be inside their home and do nothing. Although being home right now is the safest thing at this point, it’s just not fun, and everything is basically shut down. Things that I used to do were stuff like going to the gym, hanging out with friends and eating, and going to the music store. But now i have to do other stuff to keep me occupied at home like workout at home

Even though there are some businesses still open, they are still being careful and being safe running it. For example when I was buying a new phone today at At&t. They made customers stay outside while workers went out to take care of whatever they needed. So when I got the phone they said that it would be delivered tomorrow for some type of reasoning. But I am pretty sure it’s because of the viru. Other things that are still open are Amazon, Groupon. Recently I ordered something online and it said it will take at least a week because of coronavirus. This shows how you still have to be safe at all times in the evening if you’re open or shut down.

Monday, 27 April 2020

Online schooling has officially started today, although I initiated by missing every zoom meeting today; I managed to complete every assignment that was due. Today has indeed begun warmer than last week just like I had predicted. To cool off I grab some Ice cream to enjoy while binge watching Netflix. Also, earlier today I had spoken with my Father and he has been recovering from COVID-19. Doctors let him go home and like before he was in need of resources. Luckily, I was able to deliver some resources that he needed. I became content when I saw him and could not hold back from a hug. Now I just pray I do not become infected with COVID, because I still wish and await to see Sasha. A specific assignment that has been resuscitating to mind is the article “The Atlantic” that is titled “This Is Trump’s Fault,” by David Frum. do not completely agree with the statements; Yes, Trump was not prepared for an epidemic and the outcomes of it, but he also did not welcome the virus into the states, nor did he incite this epidemic from spreading. When did our respect towards Presidents fade away? When did we stop viewing our Presidents as Heroes and instead as impious dictators? if you wish to read it the link is right here: https://amp.theatlantic.com/amp/article/609532/

Tuesday, 28 April 2020

There is no other word to describe today but, Amazing! I got to sleep in until 9, read the bible, cleaned my home, watched Netflix and Disney plus, completed the online assignments and the huge highlight; Sasha finally came over with her mom. Although I wish to be informed when Sasha was coming over –but my mom is too busy sharing her thoughts with her boyfriend, she hardly communicates with me- so, I could be preparedIf I could, I would brag about how Intelligent, Beautiful, Funny, and Confident Sasha’s persona is, but I will not, because once whoever is reading this has finished, they will envy me. There are Men who are fortunate to be with their spouse’s during this quarantine; unfortunately, I am not one of them. Mainly because I do not have a spouse, but if I were to have one, Sasha would be the first and last; the one and only. She is also the only person I want to be in quarantine with, and there is no doubt about that. Just the two of us inside all day, in each other’s arms sharing any little thought that comes to our minds. Unfortunately, I do not know if that is what she wants, so all I can do is fantasize about it. I would consider myself the most fortunate Man that has ever lived, because how does a simple guy like me get a gorgeous woman like Sasha?  People may consider this child’s love, but they are completely wrong; this is a Man’s love. I am not giving up on my relationship with her no matter how difficult the situation can become.

Wednesday, 29 April 2020

Lately my alarms consist of multiple incoming phone calls whether it is my Grams, Aunties, cousins, Or my old Man. Every morning they call interrupting my dreaming sessions. I then get up, wash my mouth, and begin with my day. I spent most of today working on one subject, I did not get around to working on others. I also procrastinate watching Netflix and playing Brawl Stars. I constantly look at the in-game friends with hope of Sasha logged in as well, so I can play alongside her – I like her competitive persona. As I work on one assignment, I find it to be stressful and energy draining. My uncle had told me lifting heavy helps reduce stress, so I work out along with my younger brother. I lose track of time for the next hours, and when I arrive from my late-night run, I notice I had two missed calls from Sasha. I decided to call back and converse with her; according to the time limit we have. Of course, we go a little bit over the time limit, but I respect her Father’s restrictions and WishesTo receive another opportunity to talk, and the privilege to datsoon. Afterwards, I get in the shower to cleanse myself of my sweat and get ready for bed.

Thursday, 30 April 2020

Well, this is the end of another month during quarantine. Although, I have encountered many situations where I could have transmitted COVID. For example, when my family and I went to buy – supplies we were in need of- a homeless man that was standing outside Target’s doors coughs towards me as I was walking by, luckily I was wearing a face mask. Also, I touched and hugged my father who is currently sick from the epidemic. Surprisingly and I am grateful; I have not been contaged by COVID. I could say I have managed to survive watching memes, exercising, goofing around with my siblings, and surprise visits from Sasha and her mother. Today as I work on online assignments I noticed, I lack a feeling of wanting to finish the assignments, I do not want to do anything or talk to anyone, but Sasha. I guess I miss her a lot.

Friday, May 1 2020

After a long week of continuous exercising I just want to rest, but instead I decide to work on that tomorrow. Today, I spent my day babysitting my younger siblings and exercising. I was not in the mood to drain my energy working on assignment after assignment, so found one way or another to procrastinate throughout the day. In addition to procrastinating, as I was talking with Sasha on the phone, she mentioned that a Starbucks worker misspelled her name on her order, so instead of Sasha the worker wrote Ashta –which I found hilarious by the way. I also learned one of the many drinks she orders from Starbucks, so I would say this night was very educative.

Once walked by

Your skin looks dry

Next time wanting me to come by

But for now, good-bye

 Tuesday, March 10th

“It is unacceptable that they use their power to keep us voiceless.” They can’t do anything because they’re African American. Just because of the color of their skin, they’re being treated differently. That’s no excuse to be harming and bullying others. I agree that people should stick together. And what Martin Luther King Jr. said is absolutely true about it all. I am also glad that he kept fighting for the rights for African Americans. Having a change once and for all.

Wednesday, March 11th

Voter suppression is still occurring because there’s still protests for African Americans, racism, and unfairness. In the world we live in right now, we still see how other races treat other people who are different. And it basically just brings us back to square one. We don’t want history repeating itself and we can’t change if others won’t. I don’t think manipulating voters is a good idea. I think they should have the free will to vote on whoever they want no matter who it is. We just want them to be treated fairly. They can have a free election but manipulating them is another step in my opinion. They shouldn’t be doing that. It’s unfair. Equality is still something I stand for and I say that they shouldn’t be mistreated and manipulated. Even with the virus right now, manipulating others and trying to get what you want shouldn’t be brought up. Everyone is scared and terrified of surviving this pandemic. ‘

Thursday, March 12th

In this article, An Open Letter to John Lewis, by Margaret Renkl, I think the main idea that she’s trying to tell us is racism. As I was reading her article, the picture she showed is obvious she was talking about racism. “I have been in some kind of fight — for freedom, equality, basic human rights — for nearly my entire life,” this also talks and sounds like what has happened. Even though racism was such a big thing in the past, the past is being brought back to the present or even will still be an issue in the future if people don’t change. And people are hurting. The claim she is trying to bring to us how people are treating others and it’s hard. She also talks about hardship such as a little boy having to preach to chicken and having to join the army at an early age.

Friday, March 13th

Since everyone is in quarantine and it isn’t safe for people to go out because of these pandemic ways to try to avoid and what not to do are common sense. Don’t touch things after touching your face. Anything that comes in contact, you will get sick. Also don’t lick your fingers or anything that you’ve touched. Doesn’t matter if you touched a plastic bag or anything you think wouldn’t be contaminated. Also, another thing is not wearing a mask. You can get fined and as well as that, it’s helping you become one more step being closer to being safe. And when going to the stores, you can use hand sanitizers but don’t eat while having sanitizers because someone hand sanitizers cannot be effective because of how much it can kill. For example, 99% kills bacteria, but that one percent can’t be detained so, having used hand sanitizer, use it only at the time but don’t eat with it on after touching things.  Things I have in mind that you should do is, washing your hands frequently. You should also wear masks and gloves. It’s to protect yourself from other people just in case, be cautious.

At this time of life I’ve been working on some paintings, redecorating my room, re watched some shows like The Office and Glee. I also ordered a paint by number that took me about 5 days to finish and I worked on it for about 6-7 hours each day. It kept me busy. I’ve also been knitting some clothing for fun with my mom. I hate quarantine because I miss my friends and I miss going out to eat. This isn’t fun anymore. I miss my normal life. I don’t know what to do with myself anymore. I’m just doing homework all day, I can’t even rest anymore.

Tuesday, 28 April 2020

The shows I’ve been binge watching are The Office and Glee. I’ve been re watching these shows since they aired in the early 2000’s. The Office is one of my all time favorite shows. It’s a show about a paper company that has a weird/funny boss and a bunch of different characters with different and weird personalities. There’s so much comedy and drama put into that show. Each episode is written so differently and each episode is comedy gold. 10/10 would recommend it. Now moving on to Glee. Glee is also one of my favorite shows, which is about these high school students in a crappy town who join a non popular glee club. There’s no much drama and it’s kind of like a musical too. They do covers of every music genre. These students have dreams to be on Broadway, have a music career or to just be famous. It’s also interesting if you search up backstories to some of the actors. I would rate it a 8/10.

I don’t know how I feel about this distance learning. There has been more work given to me than there was in actual school. I think I’m stressing more on online school. This isn’t okay. Can teachers cool it down a little? I lost some brain cells on the way. It’ll be hard getting used to all this. I live in a Mexican household so I can’t really concentrate that much on my work so I get very little done. Thanks for understanding!

Thursday, 30 April 2020

Alright I’ve been listening to music more than ever at this time. I’ve been searching for new music, and kept some songs on replay. My favorite song at the moment is Sir Duke – Stevie Wonder. I think that song is amazing and it cheers me up anytime I’m in a weird mood. That song is a tribute to music and how powerful music can be. Overall it was a tribute specifically to Duke Ellington. One of the best jazz composers ever. Music is something we can all appreciate. Whatever happens in the world, we’ll always have music with us. There are so many options in music and everyone has their own taste. Music will always be a part of our lives.

From the video of the 1918 influenza pandemic survivor, it was harder back then to keep safe from the disease since there wasn’t really any sanitation available or even medication. All the doctors wouldn’t be able to even help most people since they would already be to full capacity. So most families would just bury their own dead in little common graves. We are now living history. This pandemic will be talked about to kids. Survivors in the future will be interviewed about this covid-19 disease. People are not being smart about this. There are protests going against this lockdown. I don’t know how people can be this ignorant. People are literally dying because of this disease. People are protesting because they want to go to work and they want to provide for their families, but how are they going to provide for their families if they are exposing themselves to the disease and might give it to their own families, I guess that’s what they’re providing.

Making people aware with reality

They don’t realize they’re lucky

Tuesday, March 10th

In the movie Selma, Martin Luther King said “Who murdered Jimmie Lee Jackson? Every negro man and woman who stands by without joining this fight as their brothers and sisters are brutalized, humiliated, and ripped from this earth” (DeVernay). This quote is very important in the movie because it tells us that in order to win this fight, we need to come together as one to become stronger. Those who are not joining the fight, they’re letting their own people die. They’re just standing in the back and not engaging to fight their own fight. People are dying because their people are not going with them in the fight.

Wednesday, March 11th

Voter suppression is still occurring by making polling places less accessible to people, proof of citizenship and voter ID requirements.

Thursday, March 12th

In the article, “An Open Letter to John Lewis” by Margret Renkl, it talks about the importance of “Bloody Sunday”. How bad and cruel it really was watching it on screen from the movie Selma. These people wanted to claim their voting rights and so they marched from Selma to Montgomery. At the other end of the bridge, there were about 150 state polices with bullwhips, tear gas and billy clubs. It went to show people what was happening in the Jim Crow South. “One minute and five seconds after the two-minute warning, evil advanced and the carnage began, even as you knelt in the road to pray” (Renkl). The troopers only gave the citizens two minutes to disperse. They didn’t even wait for them to disperse, next thing you know they’re attacking the citizens on the road and brutally hitting them with their armory. “Bloody Sunday” was truly a sad day for everyone.

Friday, March 13th

  • Wash your hands constantly
  • Wear a mask every time you go out for essential reasons
  • If you don’t have a mask, make one!
  • Use hand sanitizer
  • Make sure to cover yourself when you sneeze/cough
  • Please don’t go to social gatherings with 5+ people

Tuesday, March 10th

A quote that stood out to me in the film Selma by Ara Du Vernay, was when Martin Luther King Jr said “segregation is now an illegal act.” That quote stood out to me because it shows how racism was bad back in the days. It showed how white Americans didn’t like colored people and how colored people weren’t allowed to enter the building to vote.

Wednesday, March 11th

Voter suppression is still going on around the world till this day.  I personally feel like it’s not fair to discriminate people based on their skin color and race, everyone should have the right to vote if they’re an American citizen. Every vote counts and so the more votes the better because we would all want to have someone who we can agree on to help change the world and make it better for right now and for the future.

Thursday, March 12th

In the article An Open Letter to John Lewis from Margaret Renkl wrote an open letter about Bloody Sunday and how that day was so horrible. A quote that stood out to me was “your sacrifice will always be remembered.” It stood out to me because it’s important people who marched risked their lives, they were brutally beaten by Alabama forces with billy clubs, tear gas, and getting whipped. The marchers still did everything just to make a change for the community and they did by sacrificing their lives just for in the future people with color can also have the same rights as others.

how terrible that day was.

Things you should and should not do during quarantine

  • Wash your hand with warm water and soap for 20 seconds or more
  • Use hand sanitizer just incase
  • Stay 6ft away from people
  • Avoid being around people
  • Clean and disinfect objects and areas that are frequently touched
  • Stay home

I’ve been sleeping a lot because we are  in quarantine, I’ve been eating alot also and just been on my phone. I wake up around 12-1 like very late in the morning. I have not been able to exercise like that because I get bored working out by myself and start lacking. My goal through this quarantine is to at least not do the same thing everyday and to keep myself active.

COVID-19 Numbers Are Bad in Ecuador. The President Says the Real Story Is Even Worse”, Ecuador has one of the highest rates of COVID-19 in all of Latin America with 10,128 cases and 507 deaths in a country of just 17 million people. The legions of sick are running doctors ragged, especially in the Pacific port of Guayaquil which is Ecuador’s largest city and home to about 70 percent of COVID-19 cases. “This is the hard reality we are dealing with” by JOHN OTIS.The situation may be far worse than what the official numbers show. In the future, we should be very careful with this pandemic. Once we do not have the vaccine, the pandemic will not be over. Hopefully soon we will have the vaccine to be able to return to life and work.

“Free Fall: Oil Prices Go Negative”, the dramatic collapse in worldwide demand for oil led to an extraordinary development on Monday: U.S. oil prices fell below zero for the first time ever and kept falling. The coronavirus pandemic has led the global economy to slam the brakes, leading to an extremely sharp drop in demand for oil. It has created a massive oil glut and raised concerns about the lack of physical storage space for it. Prices had dropped swiftly because of the coronavirus” by CAMILA DOMONOSKE. The seriousness of the epidemic is getting worse. It is sending the economy down. The pandemic is causing a crisis for energy producing governments around the world and could change the global economy forever. Hopefully soon we will have the vaccine to be able to return to life and work.

How Do You Do Contact Tracing? Poor Countries Have Plenty of Advice”, the head of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says contact tracing will be vital in the next phase of the coronavirus pandemic in the United States. The contact tracing is used all over the world, including in the U.S. The idea is to track down anyone in recent contact with a newly diagnosed patient, then check the health of these contacts. “It’s been a valuable tool in fighting infectious diseases like Ebola and tuberculosis” by JASON BEAUBIEN. The contact tracing is the process of identification of persons who may have come into contact with an infected person and later collection of further information about these contacts. Hopefully soon we will have the vaccine to be able to return to life and work.

“First Responders Want Prior Warning About Who Has Coronavirus”, first responders, police, and paramedics who say they have a right to know who has the virus. First responders are at great risk of contracting the coronavirus, and many say it would help them if they knew ahead of time when they are about to respond to a call from someone with the disease. “They say they’d like dispatchers to warn them when a call is on that list.” by MARTIN KASTE. The extra steps are necessary because medical data privacy laws are especially strict. Generally speaking, it’s state laws that determine whether first responders can get these addresses. “Even if first responders don’t get prior warning, they’re still free to ask the people they’re helping about whether they’re infected”. We can appreciate and kindness through things they are trying to help people, especially in pandemics!

“Tracking the Pandemic: How Quickly Is the Coronavirus Spreading State by State?”, was confirmed in the United States on Jan. 21, over a half-million people in the U.S. have confirmed cases of COVID-19. When case counts grow very quickly, a state’s curve trends sharply upward, as New York’s does over the first 15 days past 100 cases. “This doesn’t mean the number of cases has stopped growing, but the rate of growth has slowed, which could signify that social distancing measures are having an effect” by ELENA RENKEN, DANIEL WOOD. Temporarily the number of plagues is slowly slowing down but we cannot be negligent because this pandemic will continue to increase rapidly in future. Although the pandemic has not been resolved yet, but as much as possible avoid casualties for everyone. Hopefully soon we will have the vaccine to be able to return to life and work.

Dear Epidemic Journal WK3

Monday April 20
The initiation of Another week in quarantine, I start it off by working out, as I am doing that. Surprisingly, I receive a message from a friend, saying he had a little job I could help him in. Turns out He wanted to renovate his garage into a bedroom. We start off by taking out all his belongings and place them into a shed in his backyard, that was all for the first day. I thought of it more as a hangout than a job, but it was still exhausting. When I get home, I shower and finish homework that is due that day. I am grateful I was able to finally get out of the house and be a help of some sort. For the rest of the day, I finish the workout that I began in the morning and binge watch Netflix. I felt I had accomplished a day’s work it was an emotion I had not felt since quarantine began. I miss working, “school,” and everything else that comes with it. Which includes friends, and joking around, horse playing, and annoying the teacher, trying to get him to break his cool for humorous reasons.

Tuesday April 21
Expressing myself has always been one of my greatest weaknesses. Ever since I can remember I never liked to express my thoughts or feelings. I have always kept my own thoughts to myself because there was no one interested in what I had to say. Normally, I would be ignored, whenever I spoke. For some weird reason, now there are multiple people persuading me to speak my feelings, but it feels awkward to do so. I know it has been difficult writing daily on the electrical journals. I find pushing myself to write, not just for the extra credit my English teacher offers, but because I should grow out of the insecurity and become more honest with myself; I work on communicating my thoughts to others as well. Whenever I see the same situation happening to someone; I take time and acknowledge what they have to say, so they do not grow up to be insecure like I am. It usually happens whenever I am in a group conversation: there is one person not given attention when speaking, and that person decides to continue to rattle on about whatever they are saying although, no one is paying attention to them. I usually shut out everyone else and pay attention myself, or yell out “she is speaking, and did not finish saying what she had to say” and that person receives the attention they did not think they could get. Although, the outcome is not appreciated; due to the excessive comments I receive. They are verbal harassments and questions whether I have intimate feelings towards the girl, I gave a bit of attention to. Of course, I do Not, but people expect me to, because they are not use to a watching a guy show respect to a girl, with no feelings involved.

My father has bronchitis; his chest is closing, and it is difficult for him to breath. What would I do if my dad were to die? On whose shoulder would I cry on? Although my Father was not there for me when I needed him the most, I never had the male role model, the strong father who gave love to his child, the man that disciplined me. Deep down I always had the love for him. My desire is to spend more time together. I want my father to hold me in his arms and kiss my forehead and teach me what it is like to work hard and be responsible and have a man’s word count. I want discipline to receive some sort of attention. I just ask for a father’s love, the love I never felt but only saw given towards other children. I do not wish to receive a call from my dad’s second wife one morning while I am at home, and hear the words, “your father has passed,” where are my days that I played catch with him? As I was starting to create a relationship with him, why did he decide to leave again? All I want is a father, that will one day tell me he is proud of me and everything I was able to carry out. I look at toddlers that go to the park and play with their dads, and I picture myself being that kid, I am that kid hugging that big bearded man, the one who is playing tag, the boy that is learning to ride a bike, and slowly let go. All I had were forty-five-minute conversations in a plastic chair with a metal table in a small booth with glass partitions separating me from my dad, inside of a county jail. Most of the times I had nothing to say.

Thursday April 23

I have recently found out the more thought and feelings I express, the less information I keep to myself. When I do not have anything to keep to myself, I feel empty from within and with no mystery. Today has been a hot day; I had a headache and felt emotionally tired with no interest in accomplishing work. I concluded I was dehydrated; after some research on the symptoms of dehydration, it turned out I was correct. As I sit down to type, I ponder whether the upcoming week -once online schooling officially starts- will be any different from this week. Will professors assign more work? Will next week be warmer? Is the state of California planning on opening any beaches now, so citizens have an opportunity to cool off by the shore? When will I be able to see Sasha in person once again? How is my Father doing in the Hospital? It’s been a while since I have heard about him. I distract myself throughout the day with binge watching Netflix, I recently heard from Sasha she had -once again- finished watching the series “The Office”, and so I try to match her enthusiasm for the show, by finishing the series as well. So, for the rest of the day I watch nothing but “The Office”. Being honest I watched a total of 2 seasons and 3 episodes in one day. What a killer move I thought to myself

Friday April 24

Well we are approaching the end of another month and it does not seem like officials are going to be calling off the quarantine any time soon. I am starting to slowly grow impatient about this quarantine situation. I try to distract myself in order not to think of it, but it is difficult when it continues to smack you in the face daily. I have created a bucket list of the top 3 things I will make sure to do once quarantine has ended. First, I will be the host of a beach day, that includes games and a picnic; Second, I will visit family members I have not yet had a chance to. Lastly, I will buy a Julian pie and eat it, out in the wilderness. That’s if I make it out alive without getting sick

Quarantine Thangs

Journal #3

Monday, March 9th

Smell like a flower when I hop out the shower, go high on a tower for about an hour.

Tuesday, March 10th

MLK got punched trying to vote. Prevent people from voting because of color. “Use violence to de-promote violence”.

Wednesday, March 11th

In the movie they stop all the blacks from voting. I don’t think they stop us from voting but I do believe they dont want us to have a voice. They attacked the black people for standing up and trying to vote. They want to deport us so we lose our people.

Thursday, March 12th

I believe the letter to John Lewis was to acknowledge him one last time because of his cancer. Before he passes away she wanted to tell his legacy/story one more time. For everyone to remember what he has done and been through for the civil rights movement. In the video of the march to the bridge where they were set up you can see him because of what he wore in the whole video. When everything cracks off and you see everyone get attacked you can see John Lewis get beat by the police. Through everything he went through he never gave up in the movement. If you believe in something so strongly then no matter what happens you must never give up on it or it was never meant to be just like how John Lewis was with the Civil Rights movement.

Journal entry 3

April 20, 2020

It is currently 10 pm and I’m bored. I haven’t done anything fun lately, other than literally staying in my room all day and constantly checking my refrigerator to eat. I look like bum, and my eyes are baggy for sleeping at around 4 am. But other than focusing on the negative, I feel like quarantine is helping me build a stronger relationship with my parents. I’ve been getting frustrated lately, with everything going on, and for some reason I’m getting more stressed. I hope everyone is doing well, and that they have everything they need. I’m going to be honest I’ve been praying for everyone at school, and for the world in general, and I hope everything ends up being okay, which I know for a fact that everything WILL be okay. I’ve been stuck at home playing my drum set, learning new beats, that about it, I don’t really have anything else to say. I don’t want to go back to school, and I don’t miss it.

Journal 4/16/20

I feel guilty when I go outside. I feel like I should be doing something. Whether it’s hanging out with friends, family or just skating around the neighborhood. I looked at the sky this afternoon and noticed that in the second day in a row not a single cloud was in sight. I then remember that we are in a pandemic and that we have to follow the rules.

Dear Epidemic Journal WK 2

Monday April 13

Personally, I have managed to survive this quarantine, although I do not have the most spacious and luxurious house. I am grateful for the time I have spent with those living amongst me, but My Dad who lives in Tijuana is struggling and that is a burden for me. Recently as I was communicating with my father, at first everything was laughter and cheer, but once that was over, he revealed a heart aching truth. He had been diagnosed with COVID-19 and did not have money for recovery or food. While I was relaxing on my butt, he was suffering with the virus and trying to survive without money or food. Immediately as I could, I sent out money, for medical supplies and some food, hoping it would help. I pray to my God, that he recovers quickly, and he gives someone to help and provide. I will be a helping-hand from my part, trying to get resources to him in any way possible. I ponder how long will this epidemic last? How many more families will be hurt before this is over?

Tuesday April 14

Today, Sasha came over with her mom earlier than before, and stayed longer than usual. It was great, even though she was tired and wanted to take a nap. I am incredibly grateful that we surprisingly have seen each other every week since quarantine began, I thank her father for the opportunity. She is an amazing part of my week, and what I look forward to every day. She is BEAUTIFUL, and with no exaggeration or hesitation. I cannot emphasize enough the urge I had to kiss her red soft lips, today. They were right in front of me, they were staring directly at me, but I stopped myself, because I know it is inappropriate. According to My Church morality it is not okay for a young guy and girl to be alone in a room, especially to be holding hands, hugging, and kissing is improper. I have decided to apply these morals to myself as well. It will be difficult, yes, but according to older and wiser Men, it is beneficial. Waiting and being patient is profitable, so I will take a step in that same direction. I will reserve myself and save all my love for Sasha, because deep down I am one hundred percent there is NO other Girl that I want but, Sasha. Hopefully, she feels the same way. There are times when I look at her, and I just can NOT look away, because I become enchanted with her gorgeous beauty. I have come to the conclusion that the great way to spend my afternoon during this quarantine is with a hot drink for the cold, with some pillows and binge watching “The Office” sharing it with my special friend, Sasha.

Wednesday April 15

Today, I spent my day binge watching episode after episode on Netflix, Although I did go out for a run late at night. My sister got into an argument with my younger brother and watching them resolve it by themselves was a sign of maturity. It gave me a sense of relief; she does not depend on anybody and she will be able to settle things on her own.

Thursday April 16

Today while in my thoughts, I have concluded that I have completely lost my freedom. Every day for the past month I have seen the same four walls, the same two pairs of shoes, the same four other faces in this household. I have cleaned the dusty and dirty parts of a house that no one regularly cleans, the spaces that you do not normally think of. I have found secret hidden spaces inside the house no one would have thought existed, I am now familiar with every corner of this home. I feel I have become attached to the house, and I am like the old white walls no one seems to care about. I feel like an animal in a cage, No freedom, and no knowledge of the outside. I am prepared to leave the house and adventure on, but with chains around my feet, to not run away to a distant place, where I can alone. Luckily, what I am still holding on tis, “choice/option.” I still get to decide what to eat, do I want to shower or stay filthy and lay down in a pool of my own sweat and smell my horrifying body odor. What show I want to watch next, whether to work on homework assignments or leave them pending and continue to procrastinate.

Friday April 17

If I were to die under these unprecedented times, would there be a funeral? How many people would show up? if there was. Would it worsen the situation? if so in what manner? Financially, emotionally; I cannot carry the multiple burdens on my back for an extended amount of time. As this week goes by, I have found myself to become complacent, and apathetic. I just do not care anymore about the outside world, is it improper of me? I am cooped up in a house and I only worry about those around me. Have I unconsciously given up? Or am I simply just impassive?

Tuesday, March 10th
In the article, “Professions for Women” by Virginia Woolf talks about how she conceived a new sequel called “The Pargiters” also based on women. On January 21, 1931 she delivered a speech for the women’s service and on October 11, 1932 she began her new book. She has very powerful thoughts towards women’s rights. She is a professional in literature and she says that there aren’t many experiences for women in that profession. The article states that all men and women have the same writing power, that not only because one isn’t a man their books aren’t as good or sentimental. Women should feel like they are able to write and be published without as much criticism by men. Everyone is equal and thoughts are thoughts, some more powerful than others, but can be from both women and men. Woolf looked upon the angel of the house , also a very powerful woman.
Wednesday, March 11th
In the article I read called “The Education of Women” by Daniel Dofe paragraph 14 talks about how supposedly men can educate women to be fit to be part of the government. Women can have the same thought process about the government as a man, which means they can educate themselves to be fit. If the woman’s soul were refined and improved by teaching would not be lost. As a matter of fact the word could be 10x better due to the fact that they are equal and at the same time mature quicker. Which helps them on how they think and how they can improve themselves without the criticism of men. There should be no judgement towards women wanting to be equal to men even if that means them also being part of the government. A woman of sense can be way more powerful and persuasive than 10 men without any sense.

Stuff to do during this crisis would be to not panic, and to be careful. You can wear gloves and a mask, but change them constantly. Use hand sanitizer after touching certain things as well as washing your hands constantly for about 30 seconds. Stay away from big crowds, no more than 10. Eat healthy and stay home for a while. Stuff to not do would be being around sick people. Don’t be in big crowds and don’t touch stuff that hasn’t been sanitized.

“A German Exception? Why the Country’s Coronavirus Death Rate Is Low,” showed us that Germany with more than 100,000 people infected. But the percentage of fatal cases has been remarkably low compared to those in many neighboring countries. The chances of surviving that decline are vastly improved by being in a hospital when it begins. “They might suggest hospitalization, even to a patient who has only mild symptoms” by Katrin Bennhold.  Their carefulness and prudence has been reduced during this turbulent period. and can say that this is good news because they were able to save those who were sick. There is still no vaccine yet, the methods they use still can save some people. Although not much, they were able to reduce the death of many people. This could also be considered good news.

“The one word that explains why Trump should not be president” showed us that Trump should not be president, especially during a time of crisis. This observation came Sunday amid an avalanche of nonsense about the anti-malaria drug that he believes to be a magic bullet against covid-19. “What do I know? I’m not a doctor” by Eugene Robinson. This can confuse us, and this confusion can affect a lot of people especially when we are in chaotic times. When our confusion has affected others then it is exceedingly difficult to fix that. When the president was mistaken about the anti-malaria drug that he believes to be a magic bullet against COVID-19. His mistake made many people think that he should not be president, especially during a time of crisis.

“In Another Pushback Against Oversight, Trump Removes Pandemic Inspector General” showed us about the head of a group charged with overseeing the $2 trillion corona virus package passed by Congress. That an existing inspector general be selected by a council of inspectors general to oversee the response to the pandemic. “The president said that complaints about delays in test results were “wrong” and suggested that the inspector general was politically motivated” by Drew Angerer/Getty. In the quote, he showed us bureaucracy and taking advantage of the epidemic and then harming those in the plague. And this can discredit people from his actions. And I agree that the president has also criticized inspector general findings at the Department of Health and Human Services and were facing delays in COVID-19 testing. This delay can kill a lot of people, so we need to stop it in time to avoid unfortunate consequences.

Scientists create mutant enzymes that recycle plastic bottles in hours” showed us about a mutant bacterial enzyme that breaks down plastic bottles. The billions of tons of plastic waste have polluted the planet, from the Arctic to the deepest ocean trench, and pose a particular risk to sea life. “Campaigners say reducing the use of plastic is key” by Damian Carrington. Plastic is one of the main materials found in landfills and can take up to a thousand years to biodegrade, leading to a more polluted and toxic environment. Even when properly recycled, the amount of energy and fossil fuels to create plastic is unsustainable and harmful to our planet. We should reduce the use of plastic in our everyday lives. Because that will be a better chance our planet has to survive and reduce viruses in our life!

“This Is Trump’s Fault” showed that the president is failing, and Americans are paying for his failures. The pandemic occurred is not Trump’s fault. The utter unpreparedness of the United States. “Ten weeks of insisting that the corona virus is a harmless flu that would miraculously go away on its own?” by David Frum. His confidence has put him in trouble. The confidence when believing that a dangerous epidemic might automatically disappear. I wonder where he can get that confidence from. But this has made many people in trouble. “ I don’t take responsibility at all,” said President Donald Trump in the Rose Garden on March 13”. I agree with the fact that the plague was not his fault but his unpreparedness got into trouble. Even he received its first formal notification of the outbreak on January 3.

I’ve been stuck home all day and just finished doing my tests on speak because I forgot to do them 🤣. I woke up so early around 5:00 and couldn’t fall back to sleep so I stayed up and watched Netflix then eventually fell back asleep at around 7 then woke up at 10 then took my dog out for a bit then came back inside.

Professions for Women

“She was intensely sympathetic. She was immensely charming. She was utterly selfish. She excelled in the difficult arts of family life. She sacrificed herself daily.” (Virginia Woolf) In my opinion, Woolf described the angel as sympathetic, charming, selfish, and so on and she must be describing the stereotypes of women. One of the common stereotypes of women is that they are housewives staying home doing work and chores at home that only women should do like the laundry, cleaning, and cooking like how Woolf said “she excelled in the difficult arts of family life.” Women should kill the “Angel” that was brought upon them by society from the mind of unbalanced men. The “Angel” is the label given to women that their sole purpose is “to soothe, to flatter, and to comfort the male half of the world’s population” which sounds extremely stereotypical for women. Women in the 19th century should kill the “Angel”, but women today in the 21st century have already destroyed that “Angel.”

The Education of Women

“I would have men take women for companions and educate them to be fit for it.”

Daniel Defoe refers to women as better companions than men perhaps because men can be arrogant, ignorant, impulsive, rash, irrational, unintelligent, cocky, and have a sense of superiority over women simply because men are the superior gender. In the next lines, Defoe states “as a man of sense will scorn to oppress the weakness of the woman.” and that would mean that women are worthless in the eyes of a man however that is wrong and it can be changed. According to Defoe, he argues “But if the women’s souls were refined and improved by teaching, that word would be lost.” Just as Defoe said, “educate them to be fit for it”, women can learn just like a normal man and be the same as them and rid the label that women were given as useless.

My Thoughts

Now, the virus COVID-19 is spreading quickly becoming a pandemic. Spring break has started quite early which is good and unfortunate because like we got three weeks of no school maybe more, but I don’t get to see my girlfriend and my friends whom I miss very much. I have become isolated at home; I rarely go out unless it’s to fill up a 5-gallon jug for water or for laundry. I am unable to go out anywhere due to my mother’s restrictions which is miserable. My brother is still working but unable to attend his classes at college. My father is still working but goes out less often. My mother is still working however her words can be stressful. The virus is still spreading which is ridiculous and I hope it dies down a bit. The virus will most likely keep spreading due to the stupidity of young adults and teenagers that want to be festive. I am feeling bored, very bored even though I can play games and watch shows or movies for like forever, but it still feels extremely boring.

Wednesday, March 18th

Logic, Depth, and Insight

Governor Newsom told his daughter and the people of California to have logic, depth, and insight. What he means by logic could mean common sense on what to do to prevail against the virus, COVID-19. The common sense that every individual in California should have is to stay home, avoid large crowds, wash your hands often, don’t go out often, be clean, and more. Some people lack that “logic” because they simply think that they are healthy and strong, or they think that the virus isn’t a dangerous matter. Governor Newsom could be referring to depth as understanding how dangerous the virus is and what the people of the U.S. can do to suppress it. Insight is the intuition of what the people of California should have and as well as the daughter of Governor Newsom. The people of the U.S. should be aware of the Coronavirus and the effects it has on businesses, companies, governments, and more.

Thursday, March 19th

Isolation

I am feeling exceptionally bored due to the lack of entering the outside world. Every day of this early spring break is the same routine which I am very tired of. I am not completely cripple, I am able to do my home physical workouts, play video games, check social media, and watch movies and shows to my heart’s content. I can stay “sane” and “healthy” by texting my girlfriend, calling people, working out, doing daily chores, and sleeping very late. I do miss school because I feel cooped up at home like a bird that is trapped in a cage. I want to go outside and go to places. I want to see my friends. I want to see my girlfriend. I want to go to places that are fun, and I want to go to the gym. This virus is no joke. How dare it rise and take away my happiness. Damn you COVID-19.

Extra story

I’m sure everyone has heard of the news where Asian people are getting beat up for the idea of being “potential hosts of the Coronavirus” I have a small story to tell about that but not as serious. My father called me to go downstairs to get groceries and there were these two people staring at me, one was some middle-aged lady, and the other individual I couldn’t tell because they could’ve been male or female. They were getting out of their parked car, but they stared at me the entire time and it was just awkward as hell. The middle-aged lady just stared at me and I stared straight back into her eyes and she said “hello” and in my head I was like “This b****” but I said hello because I’m nice. My father had already brought the groceries upstairs, so I was waiting for no one basically. But the two people would stare at me straight on and the lady kept looking back at me. I would have said something, but I didn’t want to cause a fight, so I just stared at them as they stared at me. My arms went up into a shrug and the lady shouted something, but I couldn’t hear what she said so I looked at her, shake my head, and turned away. I felt like socking these two people, but I wouldn’t do that. I’m Asian and my face isn’t that scary at all. I was wearing grey sweats and a grey jacket, doesn’t seem scary at all. So, the only possibility was that I was a host carrying the disease. I should’ve coughed and sneezed to scare them off. Fuck racist people, Am I right?

Day 5

As the days of quarantine are passing by, COVID-19 is still spreading surprisingly making every day more depressing and long. The first epicenter of the virus was in China then the next was Italy and I’m afraid the U.S. will be the next nation to fall in the hands of a dangerous virus. The Governor of California, Gavin Newsom issued an order to the people of California to stay home as an urgent order. It will be a long time before society reverts to its civilized functioning roots. This virus will be eradicated soon but I think it will take several years to be fully eliminated. There are people all over the world who are afraid and very much paranoid of the epidemic such as my parents and there is a line between understanding the problem and panicking. Panicking about the problem makes the situation severely worse but understanding the problem allows people to stay calm and solve minor problems to prevent any further spread.

Monday, March 23rd

Day 6

Another boring day of being quarantined by the State and by the power of COVID-19. I haven’t been in touch with the outside world, it is like a wasteland fallen to the hands of radioactivity and zombies, but I wish it was like that because it is boring as f***. Florida is infested with infected people that have COVID-19 and the young people that want to live life and party themselves to a higher degree of craziness are basically insane. Those young people are idiotic and this lyric from a song called “Young, Dumb, and Broke” by Khalid reminds me of them because Khalid states “Yeah, we’re just young, dumb, and broke but we still got love to give.” Sounds just like a young teenager/adult in Miami Beach, although it seems slightly fun because I’m bored as hell however, I wish this virus would just disappear into the night sky.

Tuesday, March 24th

Day 7

When COVID-19 was in its early stages of uprising and birth, some people that were infected with the virus were selfish because they spread it to other people and therefore affecting the entire world. Two song lyrics came into my mind when people were infected with the virus that was traveling the globe, Run by Joni and the Pokémon theme song by Jason Paige. Joni states “And I travel the country and I travel the country just to get to you. Paige states “I will travel across the land, Searching far and wide.” It sounds funny but that’s what those people were doing, such a shame. COVID-19 is especially thriving on the East side of the U.S. where things are probably difficult as hell because of the virus. Looking at a global map of cases, the East side of the U.S. is filled with red dots just like my face back in Freshman year of high school. Another note, I met the outside world, it’s still the same.

Day 8

I went out yesterday to get Jack in the Box and though sometimes I get the feeling that when people look at me, they think “He probably has the virus” which is messed up. Every time I do go out, I can’t help but think that because I’m Asian. I am dying from boredom and tiredness. I never really have a good sleep anymore due to lack of family respect and I am still cooped up in a bird cage where I can only leave if my brother goes somewhere. I’ve done my daily chores as usual and it seems to get more boring and boring each time I do it. I wake up, use the bathroom, eat, brush my teeth, watch movies, daily chores, play games, workout, and do homework. I thought this premature break was going to be pleasant and enjoyable but really it isn’t, I’m trapped for my own safety. I only go to two places, the YMCA and my girlfriend’s house but my mom doesn’t know that, and I cannot go to either of those places sadly.

Day 9

I envy the teenagers that can go out and do the things they enjoy in the beautiful outside world. I am still doing my normal things that I do every day although I get to watch different movies here and there but that is it. I rather be at school than staying home bored out of my mind. I miss school; it keeps my mind busy rather than empty when I am at home doing the same damn things every day. I want to go out and do whatever I like. I haven’t been in a car in like a century, I literally do not know when the last time was, I stepped into a vehicle and went somewhere. It has been too long without seeing the outside world that involves my friends, YMCA, my girlfriend, school, and the most randomness things like a pigeon. I have not seen a pigeon in like 7 years. I miss being outside!

Friday, March 27th

Day 10

I miss walking, I miss getting food from outside stores, I miss school, I miss learning, I miss my girlfriend. I am restrained from the chains of my parents that will not allow me to go to my girlfriend’s house even though she lives about 4 minutes away by walking literally but they don’t know that. I am tired of working out at home, doing pushups, bicep curls, abdominal exercises, it is getting tiresome. I want to go back to school already, I’m tired of this s***. I thought staying home from this maniacal virus would be great, but really it isn’t. I want to go to the beach like those crazy young teenagers/adults in Miami. I want to go to the mall and buy my essentials that I need and just walk around and observe the thousands of people that come in and go out. I have done everything I can in my home, and I am still bored to death.

Monday, March 30th

Day 11

The thought of going back to school sounds delicious. Being at home isn’t not the move right now. I can’t stand being at home anymore, it’s not the best feeling in the world. A little info about my home life is that I’m Asian and Asian parents are ridiculous as hell and which is the main reason why I don’t want to be home. In the past, Home was like a sanctuary for me because at the time I would be a child playing video games, watching cartoons, and doing whatever I wanted except like alcohol and drugs but now my home is not the same anymore. I rather be at school for sure rather than to stay home for a month. I thought this premature spring break was going to be easy, relaxing, and simple but more like the opposite. One of my favorite music artists, Joni states, “Please just let me sleep forever” and I feel that I would love that.

Tuesday, March 31st

Day 12

The same thing every day, I have the same routine every day. It’s sickening and I hate it. Wake up, use the bathroom, check social media, watch videos on YouTube, homework, breakfast, working out and rest for the entire day and to repeat again the next day. I have grown tired of this which has made me a little unusual in the head, but that is okay like who doesn’t go a little crazy while cooped in your home. Being the unappreciated, helpful, loyal companion to my mother is more like taking in harsh words and insults that seem to cripple me from the inside which makes my vacation at home like a living hell. My safe havens at home would be playing games on my laptop, listening to my music, talking to my brother, talking to my girlfriend on the phone, sleeping, and watching videos at like 2 in the morning.

Wednesday, April 1st

Day 13

It’s April fools today and people probably thought this Coronavirus was a joke and I thought that too for the best of hope. China was going to be like “HA April FOOLS YALL, we got the vaccine lmao.” I wish it was like that, but we still must continue living at home for the rest of this time. The days go by much slower being at home doing the same things everyday but when it’s during school, it goes by quick as hell. I would do anything to get the hell out of here and go to my girlfriend’s house, but I am restrained by the ropes of my own mother. When summer comes around and we are still here quarantined at home, IT” S GONNA BE HOT AS FUCK. I’m hoping that this shit does calm down before or during the summer because no way am, I am staying in my home that feels like a million degrees,

Thursday, April 2nd

Day 14

These days go so slow now and it feels like I’m living 36 hours per day rather than 24. I have nothing to look forward to the next day and to the next and again to the next. It’s a very boring thing and it makes me sad because school was always something to look forward to every day even if it was horrific or amazing. Everything on the news is basically depressing due to the situation everyone is in and nothing good comes from it. A relentless individual in my home doesn’t know when to stop being the angry, deceitful person they are. I don’t have much to write about because I’ve basically covered everything in my journal writings, so it is getting a little boring because my life is boring. I can’t be sad at home, I can’t be mad, I can’t be upset, I cannot show any form of negative emotions thanks to my mother who makes things very difficult. I must show fake emotions in order to mask the true feelings on the inside.

Friday, April 3rd

Day 15

A famous musical artist, The Weekend states, “That’s real life, real life, that real life,” Just like what the world is dealing with right now, it’s that real life. I’ve been watching a new show called “The 100” which is pretty good. Previously I finished a show on Hulu called “My Dead Ex” which I enjoyed very much. I ventured through the streaming platforms for a good show to watch and recommendations were given to me to watch “The 100”. I wonder how long this virus will be ridden from this world completely, I’m estimating about 2 years to get rid of it. I want to enjoy the pleasures of the outside which I miss very much and now I have been enjoying the pleasure of living in the inside world which is good but not as fun or cool. A game that I have been playing throughout this time of quarantine is “War Thunder” which is a realistic PC tank game.

Monday, April 6th

Day 16

The start of a new week that I’m hoping will go smoothly without any resistance. Again, I do not have much to talk about. The death and infection rates in the U.S. are still rising sadly. There are above 400,000 confirmed cases here in the U.S. and those numbers will continue to increase. I did see an article talking about the cases in New York that are calming down slightly but I didn’t feel like reading it. There isn’t much to do at home which I have done everything I can think of and I’m bored out of my mind. I’m still playing my video games on my laptop, but I get bored of it after a couple games, a boring life. Speaking of games, I was playing this game called Destiny, which was fun, but I deleted it after like two weeks because of the missions that are so hard to solve.

Tuesday, April 7th

Day 17

Another normal day, I think… It’s the 7th of April and March was so damn slow like for no reason. March moved at the speed of a 79-year-old Asian grandmother at the Asian supermarket trying to look for mushrooms. April better move at the pace of a 78-year-old Asian Grandmother looking for fruit loops which is much faster. I’ve watched a couple of movies during this quarantine, but none ever seem to last. Later in the day I received urgent and shocking news from my girlfriend. That put me into shock and into deep questioning that made me quite sad. I did unfortunately cry because I was sad *LMAO*. I did complete the vocab quizzes on Edmodo and like I got a bad grade and I don’t know because I was so confident that it was right. I still have some math homework but I’m too lazy to do it.

Wednesday, April 8th

Day 18

Another day that seems so unpredictable and unexpected. Today was not the day because just arguments between me and my mother that resulted in her calling me useless, stupid, dumb, and bad. Typical Asian parents I would say. A ridiculous day of cleaning and yelling put me in a sad mood. Since I have nothing to talk about, I’ll start journaling on what I ate. For breakfast I had sour chicken soup, for a snack I had animal crackers. For a snack later in the day I had lime hot Cheetos, and for dinner I had a white people chicken Caesar wrap. Still no vaccine for the virus and no official treatment such as antibiotics. I got two new books from the mail, Halo the Fall of Reach and Halo the Flood which are based on the games, Halo. Every night I usually stay up late at night watching videos on my phone because I am not got shit to do.

Thursday, April 9th

Day 19

I’m kind of getting tired of writing daily in this journal since there isn’t anything to talk about. I haven’t had breakfast and I don’t know when I will. I don’t know what I will eat later in the day. I’ll just do my daily things such as working out and playing games. Can’t wait for next week on Monday because I’ll be able to sneak out and see my girlfriend a little more often. The people living in the U.S. aren’t getting any better nor am I. I want this week to be over already because this week is not the best week. So far no one in my family has been diagnosed with the virus. The people living in the apartment complex as I do are also staying home, nothing interesting or special. There aren’t any articles or pieces of writing that relieve this tension of the virus.

Friday, April 10th

Day 20

Today is me and my girlfriend’s anniversary. We have been together for a year and six months. I’m not allowed to go out unless I have chores to do like laundry and filling up 5-gallon containers for water. Later I will do laundry and that will be my excuse. This week needs to end already because it’s slow but fast and annoying. Memes about the virus are funny which eases the tension. I really do not have anything to talk about, I have covered everything. I have a working account for WordPress. After like 2 or 3 days of struggling, I finally have it. I think today is the quarter grade thing. I finally also get to turn this journal in after like 20 million years. I haven’t eaten breakfast yet and I do not know what I will eat later. The news is the same everyday talking about infection cases and death
